With late season snows adding a few more ski days to the yearly total, it also lends itself to some great late/early...winter/spring...(summer) Photography. Almost blending all the seasons in one shot!! It's a contrast tool provided by Mother Nature..or Contrast Boost. It's a lot of fun to create unique images, by incorporating two very different elements, brought together very rarely. It reminds me of the fall, when we get early snow mixed in with the foliage of the fall. Capturing these unique moments is a lot of fun, and very rewarding. You give the viewer a chance to look at a world that is rarely seen. And I guess that is what makes this Art form so much fun and rewarding. This time of year with the sun being so strong, these moments only last a short while, a few days up in the high country, and down in the Valley's just a few hours.

East Coast Super Shoot

It seems that this Blog always gets forgotten about, well I am going to try and be more productive with it. It seems that this winter was so unusual, but a lot of fun, due to the fact that most of the winter we spent exploring new areas in Vermont. From, "Houses of the Holy" to the "Cider Mill" to the "Beast of the East"......we found new stoke in these places. And I found new stoke at Stowe Mountain. I moved from Jay to Stowe this year and every day up at that Mountain I found new lines, new areas, new people, and new fun. I love Jay Peak more than any place in the world and maybe moving down hear I love Jay even more. Family and Friends at Jay are some of the best people in the world~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a great winter, and to Top things off, with the Help of my friends WE won the "East Coast Super Shoot at Stowe....I could not have done it with out Rider Jason Guild and Skier Dave Bott....we put together, as we watched the SU game...a great video, showing portfolio pieces mixed with the new images we took at Stowe in the two day contest. It was a fun night, with my friends from Shelburne, Vergennes, Morrisville, and Montgomery coming down to support and party, we had a good night, or as Raz would say, we had a great month!!!

High winds

Hello All,

As we get the ski season on the way, the lifts were down yesterday so we decided to hike. The winds were epic...90 mph on the western slopes of the Green Mts. We hiked up almost to the summit of Jay and the winds were brutal on us, but it was a lot of fun! Off to the Mt again today, back to hiking for some good turns.

New Season..New Postings

Hello..A new ski season has "started", see photo of the day archives to see what I mean, we only had snow at jay Peak above Heavens Road. So with some good up top turns and epic grass skiing made for a great first day. The highlight of the trip was the new ski patrol shack at the top of State Side, a fantastic use of old and new resources to create a two story patrol paradise, GOOD JOB!!

Today I just finished three new pieces, edited from shots taken this fall to create a series of three fall shots taken in Eden Vermont. You can see one of three today as the photo of the day, and then in the archives.

L'Aventure des Chic-Chocs

Hello from Parc national de las Gaspesie....

My first Blog ever...and what away to start...from 540 miles north of home base(montgomery center, Vermont).....and 12 hours later and an amazing drive along the St. Lawrence to the Ocean.

What a trip so far...if you look at the photo of the day, Steve is skiing down Mont Blanche, a beautiful sunny day, with amazing views of what we skied yesterday, Mont Hogs-Back. An interesting thing happened yesterday, we had a friend at the top of the mountain, a little white Marmot with a long white tail was running around us, trying to run up our pants, jumping on ski poles, and trying to get into our bags. It was hilarious watching the little critter run around us....but then he disappeared...I figured he just took off. After skiing down the mountain, I opened my bag to get out the car keys, and there he was in my bag eating the remains of my PB and J ....he had peanut butter all over his face and head....it was crazy, he just went for the ride of his life 2000 feet down.....I have never seen or heard of that ever before.

This place is amazing and I am getting tiered another long day skinning up these amazing mountains.
